I’m on vacation, so of course I’m writing a Substack at five in the morning in the notes app on my phone.
I’m not great at relaxing. Lucky for me I have a four year old, so even on vacation, I’m usually very busy. But I’ve noticed something that’s made me pause. Aggie, my little girl, asks, “now what we going to do?”
All. The. Time.
And do you know why? Great. Please tell me. Kidding, sort of. Partly it could be in our nature, but some of it is most likely she’s learned by my example. Vacation—great! Let’s go to the beach, go for a run, go shopping, swim, write, draw, etc, etc, etc.
So I’m going to consciously try to slow down. Wish me luck. If you have any tips on how to stop doing too much, please send them my way. 😘
I was always under the illusion that I could relax on vacation when Myke would gather up the kids and go do stuff with them. It worked occasionally. You might schedule yourself a massage!
